Death by Comparison

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” — Jeremiah 1 v 5

This verse makes me feel special. Unique.

God created us to be unique. Each of us
is unique. But why do we keep comparing ourselves to others? Why
can’t we appreciate what’s been deposited in us, work on our unique
personalities and let our true self shine? Instead we bury it and
create a false self-image, emulating other people; how they look, how
they dress, what they do etc. Denying ourselves of our true self.

Google describes unique as “being the
only one of its kind; unlike anything else”

Do you know what that means? It means that there is only one of you in this whole world! We should take pride in
that. We should let that thing that makes us unlike anything else
shine. But instead, unmindful of our uniqueness, we laboriously try
to be like another person. We are not satisfied with our selves. We
have somehow developed the idea that another person is better than we
are.

You could have a poor self image stemming from how you grew up, past experiences, genetic make up, a bad
relationship or just your mindset. Whatever it is you need to flush
that belief out of your mind. Renew your mind with the Word of God.
Only see your self how God sees you because only Him knows and
understands you.

Discover yourself.

Love,
